Doppelgängers also known as Shadows or a Shadow Self are two bloodlines forged as a consequence to an immortality spell.

Origin

The powerful witches Silas and Qetsiyah were madly in love and they wanted their love to be eternal, literally. Silas and Qetsiyah created a spell that would allow them to live forever, on the day of their wedding where they were supposed to drink the Immortality Elixir, Qetsiyah discovered that Silas had been unfaithful and had fallen madly in love with her own handmaiden Amara, she flew into a vengeful rage and created a cure for immortality. She had captured Amara and had stopped her heart desiccating her, she caught up to Silas and told him that he had killed his lover, presenting him with a heart which she said belonged to Amara, she also presented him with the cure, telling him to take it. She eventually also desiccated him and entombed him on an island in Nova Scotia. The act of creating two true Immortals forced nature to find a balance and nature created a form of the two Immortals that could be killed, thus creating the legacy of the Doppelgängers, Amara's shadows born every 500 years and Silas' on an erratic pattern of incarnation, still the Doppelgängers were drawn to eachother regardless. Silas and Amara's love lived on.
